Once again Slingshot dominated the beach. Other brands were left standing there while we held demos and taught every consumer and dealer there.
Friday Morning we were first on the beach 7:30 am . Over twenty kites, ten boards, oneline displays and twelve flags. Friday was key because it had the most wind. The majority of the other companies didn’t bother to show up until Saturday.
The dealer base really was awesome. I teched out and taught clinics to a whole lot of our customers. I got a real sense that they learned a ton and had some excellent water time as well. I even heard one of our dealers say “This is one of his best days ever on the water!”
Props to my regional riders as they busted butt to help out on and off the beach.
Saturday brought light winds and the forecast of rain. In the end it didn’t really matter because the Machine was the first on the water and one of the only kites to perform that day.
Michelle from the Delta Wind Surf killed it. Then Karen, a Slingshot regional rider, took over and really killed it. Go girls go! Everyone was super stoked that day with the Machine’s performance.
Greg Jonutz dominated the land boarding scene hucking and spinning on a Fuel in the light air. He was scaring all of us but managed to escape with only serious sand burn to his buttox.
I would like to give a big shout out for all the support from my crew, Greg Jonutz, Drea Robinson, Geoff Headington, Karry Headington, Anthony Chavez, Sheila Shakar, Gary Reed and Karen Reed.
